this week is a personal favorite! Sean's rap skills are sure to put a smile on your face.
On top of singing just being a fun thing to do with friends and family, we found some mental and physical benefits to singing (or rapping in Sean's case).
1. Stronger immune system
Singing for an extended amount of time has been shown to increase proteins in your immune system that function as antibodies. Think of it as your supplement to vitamin C!
2. Exercise your lungs
While singing, more oxygen is pulled into your lungs, causing them to expand further. Some researchers believe this could effect your aerobic stamina and capacity! Would you rather sing or run? It’s up to you, but first read the other benefits to singing before you make a final decision!
3. Natural anti-depressant
Endorphins, the feel-good brain chemical that makes you happy, are released while singing. Sounds like a good way to make people smile!
4. Lower stress levels
The action of singing relaxes muscles and lowers your stress hormone, cortisol. Next time you are stressed about work, classes or obligations – sing the stress away!
